there has been a connection between carl michael and raster-noton since the early days of the label.
their first meeting took place in 1997 at documenta x in kassel, where carsten nicolai, olaf bender, frank bretschneider, mika vainio and c.m.v. hausswolff came together to do a spontaneous session at kassel's "autospindel". their common interest in focusing on underrated qualities of sound or music brought them together.
above all, carl michael von hausswolff's work is about the presentation of the static quality of his sounds. a fluent flux of energy. the presence of a sound as aesthetic statement.
even so, hausswolff's release on raster-noton is about »ström«, a 50-minute bass wall that causes different reactions while listening to it. it's somehow changing the time as a frame, manipulating your feelings depending on the listening situation.
